My daughter’s birth was amazing, and that was in large part because of Micaela. Micaela’s presence as a midwife is gentle and strong, during my labor she was there whenever I needed or wanted her, but she faded into the background when my partner and I were in our own zone. She was there to guide me, but she really trusted my body, and we went at my body’s pace. She could always answer all my questions, and was always quick, skillfull, and gentle in her adminstering. Micaela was a wonderful midwife - nurturing, calm, knowledgeable and kind. She kept grounded and present during my first labor, a challenging 3-day event, even as she had her own new baby in tow. The 2nd and 3rd times were shorter and easier, and she remained an asset to me, both in the months of my pregnancies and at each birth. In fact, she caught all 3 babies, I do think! She is easy to connect with, gentle in her tone, wise about alternative methods of care, (as well as more mainstream options for women and babies), and she is just sweet. I would happily recommend her as an excellent midwife to any woman and her birth team.”

Micaela’s midwifery practice is shaped by the way she maneuvers through this life- that of grace, strength, wisdom & knowledge. With every pre-birth appointment, her presence continually showed up in complete harmonization and support with whatever was happening. Every question was given an answer, every tear an encouraging smile, sometimes a song and always laughter. She always knew what could be done and without a question did it.

When it came time to birth, Micaela showed even more of her true colors in a most awe-inspiring way. Her presence was able to form with each tide that came and went. Her grace was that of a true Mother; listening, allowing space for whatever the moment was creating while also taking action when she could be in service. Her comfort and support was everything I needed to have a beautiful and easeful birth. 

I couldn’t imagine what it would have been like without her there and thankfully I don’t have to. All you have to do is meet her and you will instantly know everything I speak of. I am eternally thankful for her.

Alongside Micaela, Mischa was always there to be the hands that kept things moving strong. With every appointment and during the birth, she was there to offer her support and care. With the heart-beat of a horses gallop, Mischa offered a strength that reached into my inner self and kept me moving forward. Her presence and will was greatly appreciated during our time together- prebirth, birth, and post-partum.”
